Economy
As one of the fastest-growing rural counties in Florida, Nassau County is part of the region with the youngest labor force, and that means more new workers from which to choose. Our manufacturing-and-services-based economy appeals to companies who need room to spread out, or those who want to locate in one of the most beautiful settings in the United States.
Location, transportation, sites, incentives and workforce all play roles in business success. From high-tech start-ups to large manufacturing facilities to world headquarters, the businesses in Nassau County are quite diverse.

Lifestyle
With a below-average cost of living, and beautiful beaches and wildlife within minutes of home and work, Nassau County provides the ultimate quality of life. With its year-round temperate climate and the vast array of things to do, it's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're on vacation 365 days a year.
Championship golf courses, world-class tennis courts, kayaking, boating, fishing and horseback riding are just a few of the things that make Nassau County a playground for all. The area's history dates back over 400 years, all of which are uniquely described at Florida's only spoken-history museum, located in historic Fernandina Beach. In addition to the museum, you'll find a 150-year-old lighthouse, a Civil War fort, a state park, and a 50-block Victorian-era National Historic District.
Nassau County is committed to education. The Nassau School District operates 16 schools and an adult education program in five communities throughout the county. The district's students consistently perform at or above the state average on the Florida Writing Assessment, the CTCB standardized test, the Florida High School Competency Test (HSCT), which measures student performance standards in communications and mathematics and is a requirement for graduation and the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). During the 2007-2008 academic year, 12 schools were rated by the State. Ten schools received an "A" and one school received a "B."
