Flagler County OverviewFlagler County has a growing economy encouraged by its dedicated attention to both industrial and commercial expansion. This is evidenced by the diversity in the county's current top employers and the variety of industries moving into the area, including manufacturing, transportation and warehousing, wholesale and retail trade, and professional services. Flagler County's transportation network continues its rapid growth with the expansions of several major thoroughfares in the works. Currently, more than 60 percent of the U.S. population lives within 1,000 miles. Additionally, Flagler County is prepared to offer a variety of financial incentives to attract, retain and encourage the expansion of select businesses that provide employment opportunities and a better standard of living for the citizens of Flagler County. Lifestyle

The U.S. Census Bureau listed the Palm Coast MSA as the fastest-growing MSA in the nation from July of 2006 to July of 2007. Families and businesses alike are quickly discovering the hidden secrets of Flagler County. As a thriving community with a low average cost of living and an abundance of cultural, recreational and leisure opportunities, Flagler County provides an ideal quality of life for any new business and its employees.

Relax on more than 19 miles of pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches or explore the serene channels of the Intracoastal Waterway. The mild climate and natural settings of Flagler County provide a retreat for any outdoorsman. Opportunities include boating, water-skiing, fishing, tennis and world-class golf. You can even experience dolphin interaction at Marineland, the world's first "oceanarium," designed to showcase marine life in their natural habitat and serve as a location for underwater cinematography. Flagler County is also situated in a prime location for visiting some of Florida's most popular attractions. The white beaches of Daytona and the historic attractions of St. Augustine, our nation's oldest city, are less than an hour away.

Flagler County continues to provide exceptional educational opportunities and proactively meet the needs of the growing population. Newly constructed Matanzas High School and Belle Terre Elementary School recently opened their doors in to more than 2,500 students. There are also seven colleges and universities within a one-hour drive.

Government

Flagler County includes the municipalities of Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, Bunnell, Beverly Beach and Marineland. The county seat is Bunnell. The five-member elected Board of County Commissioners and the elected Council of the City of Palm Coast, together with Enterprise Flagler, the economic development arm of Flagler County, strives to promote and develop the industrial and commercial growth of the region. Enterprise Flagler works with the county, its cities, businesses and citizens to assist in growing and marketing all of Flagler County's assets, while providing companies with a full range of data that will make their decision to locate or expand in Flagler County easier.
